September is #SuicidePreventionMonth. It's good to remember it's okay if you're not feeling okay. Call San Francisco Suicide Prevention hotline if you're in crisis, (415) 781-0500.
Many of my clients often say it doesn't feel like enough to call a crisis line or that it is too scary to pick up the phone and call. All of the above are true yet the best option is to call and connect with a human voice even when feeling vulnerable. Often it helps my clients to hear that I worked on the San Francisco Suicide Prevention hotline. The SF hotline is tried and true and has many great crisis counselors; in fact it's the oldest community based telephone crisis center in the United States.
