I am very passionate about women’s mental health and aiding amazing women in connecting with their inner power to lead vibrant lives. I feel there are unique mental health challenges for women and I am honored to work with women around these issues. I am keen on working with women around depression and sexual trauma.
Depression Maybe you feel yourself dragging a lot of the time and are ready for a change. Perhaps you feel like everything's falling apart or that you are weighed down by an insurmountable burden. To curb emotional overwhelm and distress experienced in depression, I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to ease symptoms. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) incorporates mindfulness to learn emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Sexual Trauma Are you experiencing nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional detachment from others? Sexual trauma violates the most vulnerable and heartfelt aspects of one’s mind and body. When working with sexual trauma survivors, I apply my specialty in Expressive Arts Therapy to bridge the conscious and unconscious minds and to identify emotions aligned with experiences that words cannot always express. Additionally, I use Narrative Therapy to assist clients in rewriting part or all of their story if desired; one that distances the self from the problem they are facing. Narrative therapy allows one to weave together a future that resonates and a past that is acceptable.
